Qualification summary
This qualification has been designed to help educational settings meet the statutory Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education (HE) requirements from September 2020.
More broadly, it also covers equality, diversity, inclusivity, Prevent duty, British values and safeguarding, all aspects of the Ofsted inspection framework.
The aim of the qualification is to give learners – who would typically work in a school or FE establishment – the knowledge required to help children and young people make informed decisions about their well-being, health and relationships and promote an inclusive and equitable educational environment.
This qualification should enhance a learner’s personal and career development and does not require any prior qualifications or level of learning.
On completion of this qualification learners may wish to consider other Skillsfirst qualifications, such as:
- VTCT (Skillsfirst) Level 2 Certificate in LGBT Inclusion in the Workplace (RQF)
- VTCT (Skillsfirst) Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools (RQF)
