Myra Wall - Managing Director and Responsible Officer

 

Myra launched Skillsfirst Awards Ltd in 2008 with the mission to develop and deliver qualifications that would have a significant impact on the employability prospects and career trajectories of individuals in a wide range of industries, using her own knowledge and experience from previous senior roles in the adult learning sector.

 

Starting an enterprise from scratch required Myra to personally strategise and oversee every aspect of the company, including finance, regulatory compliance, sales, and client and partner relationships, while simultaneously planning for every possible contingency. Myra now adopts this holistic approach while assessing projects and initiatives, in order to identify development areas and conceive and implement viable, effective improvements.

 

Myra strongly believes that a business is nothing without its people. Over the last ten years she has hand-picked and continually mentored a talented, passionate team, each and every member of which has proved crucial to the on-going growth of Skillsfirst.

Fraser Ingham - Sales and Marketing Director

 

I've been working for awarding organisations for more than 17 years, both in the vocational and general qualification sectors.

This included six years as a Customer Relationship Manager for City & Guilds and three years as a Senior Manager within the Operations Division of OCR. During this time I set-up and established a new team to support the exams office function within schools and colleges.

 

I have worked as Sales & Marketing Director for Skillsfirst Awards. We used our expertise and experience to build an excellent team and create a regulated awarding organisation that is focused on quality, service, innovation and partnerships.

 

In 2017 we established Skillsfirst Assess, an end-point assessment organisation built on the same ethos as our awarding business, with a focus on the health and social care and business related sectors.

 

In addition to my work at Skillsfirst, I sit on the board of Progress to Excellence, have acted as a School Governor at a secondary school and was an advisory board member for Youth Employment UK.

 

Outside work, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing and watching golf and football and songwriting.

 

Cheryl Collett - Operations Director

 

As Operations Director for Skillsfirst Awards, Cheryl possesses over 20 years continuous experience of working with one of the largest awarding organisations within the vocational education sector; encompassing quality, compliance and investigative work, in addition to managing and overseeing various teams and stages of delivery providing customers with a high level of customer service.

Cheryl has also been involved in several national projects, both improving upon and developing quality assurance systems.
